The Wella guide lists 6% (20 vol) for one level of lift, grey coverage, or colouring at the same depth or darker; 9% (30 vol) for two levels of lift; and 12% (40 vol) for three levels of lift. Developer choice must suit the starting hair and planned service. The standard development guidance is 30–40 minutes without heat.

Special Blonde shades have separate mixing and development instructions. Claims of up to 5 levels of lift refer to the appropriate Special Blonde service, not these standard base shades. Do not apply the Special Blonde 1:2 ratio to a base-shade formula without the relevant manufacturer direction.

What does ME+ mean? Wella developed this dye technology to reduce the risk of developing a new allergy to hair colour in people who are not already allergic. ME+ applies to specific shades. It does not eliminate the risk of allergic reactions and does not make this permanent hair dye suitable for someone with a previous reaction.

Hair colourants can cause severe allergic reactions. Follow the manufacturer’s allergy alert test instructions 48 hours before every colour application.
